Rowdy is one of the most successful Foundation Sires in the history of the American Miniature Horse with a direct production of more than 30 individual World show title winners.
He and his best offspring are characterized with a 'leggy' conformation with excellent necks.
At NFC-farms of Bob and Sandy Erwin he found his last home and joined other legendary Foundation Sires like Hemlock Brooks Egyptian King, Prince Tenessee Monashee, his own son Lazy N Little Man and Komokos Little Husseler.
At NFC Rowdy has proven himself as a Foundation Sire, providing excellent crosses of his offspring with the gets of Hemlock Brooks Egyptian King. Even the 2nd generation of both Foundation Sires crossed in a remarkable way.
Breeders with Gold Melody Boy bloodlines often claim an excellent match with Rowdy-daughters. For that purpose we searched for a possible relationship between Rowdy and Gold Melody Boy(GMB). Both were American Shetlands. Going back 4 generations and onward, we find the first common ancestry. Both pedigrees go back to King Larigo (Rowdy 1 time, GMB 4 times) and Silver Crescent (Rowdy 4 times and GMB 1 time). More line breeding, but different for both stallions, is with Radio D (twice in Rowdys pedigree) and Little Eva Bell and Jolly Polk (respectively 3 times and 2 times in GMB's pedigree).
The maternal grand-sire of Sierra Dawn Unos Monarch, and also the sire of Shadow Oaks Top Banana, Shadow Oaks Paul Bunyan, also goes back to King Larigo and Silver Crescent. |

| Rowdy has 135 foals registered with AMHA of which 40% stallions and 54.1% mares. 5.94% of the horses went into the records as geldings. Rowdy, measuring 34" (86.4 cm) produced adult AMHA-registered offspring averaging 32.3" (82.0 cm). 8 of his children appeared to be oversized. His smallest foal measured 26.5" (67.3 cm) upon reaching permanent certification. 6 of his foals measured under 30"(76.2 cm) upon permanent certification. Rowdy produced 20 different colors of the AMHA 80-color range. As a black stallion, he produced 79.3 solid colors and 8.9% pintos. |
