The legendary Foundation Sire, however, was given his name by his next owner, Mark Verhaeghe, a Belgian immmigrant. Orion Light vant Huttenest, however, would have seen his life pass by as an anonymous stallion if his outstanding potential would not have been discovered by the late Vern Brewer who finally succeeded to purchase Orion in 1983.
