There is no record that Bond Showboy has ever been shown. The AMHA Studbook has listed only 81 foals by this stallion. He has been bred by C.M Bond, one of the pioneer breeders of the American Miniature Horse. Showboy died at the age of 29. The most important Showboy-sons are the Grand Champion and extremely successful sire Bond Atoy 4U C (from the Bond Sir Galahad daughter, Bond Aclusha), Bond Peppy Power and Bond Snippet (also from a Bond Sir Galahad daughter, Bond Thumbalina). Snippet is the sire of Modern Mister Snippet, Supreme Champion, Multiple Grand Champion.
Showboy has 81 foals registered with AMHA of which 40.7% stallions and 56.8% mares. 2.5% of the horses went into the records as geldings. Showboy measuring only 28.5" (72.4 cm) produced adult AMHA-registered offspring averaging 31.2" (79.2 cm). 4 of his children appeared to be oversized. His smallest foal, Bond Bouncer, measured 19" (48.3 cm) upon reaching permanent certification. Virtually all of Showboys foals were born as Bond-horses.
Showboy produced 18 different colors of the AMHA 80-color range. Being a black pinto, he produced 44.4% solid colors and 48.1% pintos. |
