First Knights Bit O Hot Shot is the best producing son of Sooner States Bit O Honey. Hot Shots show career has both been unusual and exceptional: He still holds the record of being the first and only weanling stallion who ever won an AMHA World Grand Championship Junior Stallion. That was in 2004 by a unanimous decision of all the judges. This was followed by a period of 2 years during which his breeder, K.C. Pappas of First Knight Miniatures in Calgary, Canada, did not show Hot Shot. He returned to the show ring as a Senior Stallion and won more than 12 World titles in 4 years. Hot Shot retired from the show circuit when his son, First Knights Redi Or Not, took his place. Redi Or Not later appeared to be Hot Shots best producing son. The latter resulted in the fact that Hot Shot is the grandsire of the 2008 AMHA World Champion of Champions JSW Imperial Showkayce.
More than 10 of Hot Shots direct descendants have been recorded as World show title winners.
The vast majority of Hot Shots foal crop has been registered by his breeder K.C. Pappas as First Knight horses with 86.4%. Hot Shot has 66 foals registered with AMHA of which 42.4% stallions and 39.4% mares. 18.2% of the horses went into the records as geldings. Hot Shot, measuring 33.5" (85.1 cm) produced adult AMHA-registered offspring averaging 32.5" (81.5 cm). He produced 12 different colors of the AMHA 80-color range. As a solid sorrel, he produced 78.8% solid colors and 16.7% pintos. |
